BS/EU type washers with PTFE are composite sliding rings designed for operation under high loads and limited or completely eliminated lubrication. Their construction is based on a steel load-bearing substrate, a porous bronze layer, and a sliding layer of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), which provides a very low coefficient of friction and high wear resistance.
